Diff Wizard: What Happened to the Differential Parts Finder?

Diff Wizard from RANDYS Worldwide Automotive has been retired, and no replacement was released. The lookup it pioneered still runs here: a live PartsLogic search of the East Coast Gear Supply catalog, a RANDYS family brand. Try it below, and see how retailers get the same capability on their own stores.

Sold Parts Through Diff Wizard?

If your store relied on the Diff Wizard distributor program, that capability did not have to
retire with the tool. The search above can run on your own site, on your own catalog.

What Happened to Diff Wizard?

Diff Wizard, the differential parts finder built by RANDYS Worldwide Automotive, has been retired. As of August 2026 the diffwizard.com site no longer responds, and no replacement tool has been announced.

For years, Diff Wizard was how a lot of people answered a hard question: which differential is in my vehicle, and which parts fit it? Pick a year, make, model, and drive type, and it walked you to the right ring and pinion, install kit, or axle parts. It was a genuinely useful idea, and it was ahead of its time.

Here is what we can verify about where things stand now:

  • The diffwizard.com site went offline sometime after December 2025 and no longer answers.
  • The former Diff Wizard pages on the RANDYS Worldwide and Yukon Gear sites return not-found errors, with no redirect to a successor.
  • RANDYS has not published a replacement lookup tool. Its site offers gear ratio and tire height calculators and a written differential identification guide, and its own stores now run a general year, make, and model fitment search.
  • The distributor program that let retailers embed Diff Wizard on their own sites has no published equivalent today.

Even while it was running, the archived Diff Wizard’s vehicle list stopped at 2020 model years. So if it felt out of date near the end, that is because it was.

What Diff Wizard Did, and How the Job Gets Done Now

The need did not retire with the tool. People still have to get from a vehicle to the right differential parts. Here is the honest comparison between what Diff Wizard offered and what the live search at the top of this page does.

Diff Wizard (as archived) PartsLogic on a live store
Status Retired, site offline Running now, at the top of this page
How you searched Year, make, model, and drive type menus Type anything: a part number, a vehicle, a part type. Year, make, model filtering is available on stores that enable it
Vehicle data Its archived vehicle list ended at 2020 model years Catalog and fitment data maintained by the retailer, updated as the retailer updates it
Catalog scope 5,500+ differential part numbers, per its own archived site The retailer’s full catalog, differential parts and everything else they sell
For retailers Embed program closed with the tool Available to any Web Shop Manager store

Diff Wizard details are read from its archived site (December 2025 capture) and from RANDYS Worldwide published materials, checked August 2026.

How to Identify Your Differential Without Diff Wizard

Two paths still work well:

  • Search by vehicle. Use the search at the top of this page, or the East Coast Gear Supply catalog, where parts are organized by the axles and differentials they fit.
  • Identify it physically. Count the cover bolts, count the axle splines, and measure the ring gear diameter. RANDYS Worldwide still publishes a solid written differential identification guide that walks through exactly this.

If you get stuck between two close candidates, the cover shape and bolt count usually settle it faster than anything else.

For Retailers: What Replaces the Distributor Program

Diff Wizard’s best idea was letting parts retailers put a fitment lookup on their own site. That idea is alive and well. It is just no longer limited to 5,500 differential parts.

The demo at the top of this page is PartsLogic, Web Shop Manager’s search, running live against East Coast Gear Supply’s real catalog. On a Web Shop Manager store, the same approach covers your whole inventory:

  • Native year, make, model fitment. Vehicle lookup is built into the platform, not bolted on, so shoppers can filter the catalog to their vehicle and stay in that vehicle context as they browse.
  • Search that understands parts. Part numbers, synonyms, autocomplete, and typo tolerance across your full catalog, differential parts included.
  • Industry-standard data in. ACES and PIES catalog and fitment data can load through the same pipeline that keeps the rest of your catalog current.
  • Your catalog, your data. Coverage is as current as your own catalog, not frozen at someone else’s last update.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happened to Diff Wizard?

Diff Wizard, the differential parts finder from RANDYS Worldwide Automotive, has been retired. As of August 2026 the diffwizard.com site no longer responds, the former Diff Wizard pages on the RANDYS Worldwide and Yukon Gear sites return not-found errors, and no successor tool has been announced.

Is there a replacement for Diff Wizard?

Not from RANDYS Worldwide. Its site offers calculators and a written differential identification guide, and its own stores run a general year, make, and model fitment search. The closest working equivalent to the old lookup experience is a live fitment search on a parts retailer’s site, like the PartsLogic search of the East Coast Gear Supply catalog on this page.

Where can I find the parts Diff Wizard covered?

The parts did not go anywhere. Ring and pinion sets, install kits, axles, and other drivetrain components from brands like Yukon Gear are carried by parts retailers. East Coast Gear Supply, a RANDYS Worldwide family brand, stocks a deep differential catalog you can search from this page or browse directly.

How do I identify my differential now?

Search by vehicle on a parts retailer’s site with fitment search, or identify it physically: count the cover bolts, count the axle splines, and measure the ring gear diameter. RANDYS Worldwide still publishes a written differential identification guide that walks through the physical method.

My store used the Diff Wizard embed. What should I do?

Remove the dead embed so shoppers do not hit a broken tool, then replace the capability rather than just the widget. A store with native year, make, model fitment and catalog-wide search covers what Diff Wizard did and extends it to your whole inventory. Web Shop Manager can show you that running on your own catalog in a demo.

Does Web Shop Manager still integrate with Diff Wizard?

No. Web Shop Manager previously offered a Diff Wizard integration, but the tool has been retired by its maker, so there is nothing left to integrate with. This page stays up to explain what happened and to demonstrate the current way to get the same capability.

Who made Diff Wizard?

Diff Wizard was developed by RANDYS Worldwide Automotive, the drivetrain company behind Yukon Gear & Axle, USA Standard Gear, and East Coast Gear Supply. RANDYS remains very much in business; it retired the tool, not the parts.
