T-Rex Grilles Success Story Performance + DTC Growth
T-Rex Grilles partnered with Web Shop Manager to improve site performance, strengthen their web presence, and expand direct-to-consumer sales, helping more truck buyers discover and purchase their products online.
The store and its buyers
T-REX Truck Products makes billet, mesh and LED grilles for trucks and SUVs, sold under the T-REX Grilles and ZROADZ names and through a dealer network. T-REX first came to Web Shop Manager in 2015, and the store runs on Web Shop Manager today at trexbillet.com.
- A grille fits a trim, not just a truck. The same model year often takes different grilles depending on trim level and camera options, so a shopper needs to narrow all the way down before the catalog can answer.
- Two kinds of buyer. Some truck owners buy online; many want a local shop to sell and install the grille.
- More than one brand. T-REX keeps launching sister brands and wanted each one on the same platform.
What we built for T-REX
The pieces below are all live on the T-REX store today.
Four-level vehicle search
- Shop By Vehicle asks for year, make, model and submodel, so results match the trim a grille is engineered for.
- Results carry category and series filters, and each grille lists the trims it fits in its name.
Dealer locator
- Shoppers search by ZIP code or address, with a radius from 10 to 1,000 miles.
- Filters show only shops that install, or national chain stores, and an Online Dealers tab lists web retailers.
Selling direct
- Customer accounts, product reviews, international shipping and Affirm financing on the store.
- A Become A Dealer page brings new shops into the network.
What T-REX shoppers see today
A truck owner picks the vehicle once and the store shows only the grilles that fit it. A shopper who wants it installed switches to the dealer locator and filters for shops that do installations.
