Suncoast Performance: Award-Winning Diesel & Gas eCommerce Website Redesign

SunCoast Performance runs one Web Shop Manager store with two storefronts, one for diesel and one for gas, each with its own vehicle search.

The store and its buyers

SunCoast Performance builds torque converters, transmissions and drivetrain parts for diesel and gas vehicles. It started in 1989 as a two-person shop in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

  • Two different customers. A Cummins, Powerstroke or Duramax owner shops differently from a gas muscle car or truck owner, and one catalog page cannot speak to both.
  • Exact-fit parts. A converter or transmission has to match the vehicle and engine, so shoppers need to start from their vehicle.
  • One back office. SunCoast wanted both audiences on a single store with one cart, one account and one set of orders.

What we built for SunCoast

SunCoast runs one Web Shop Manager store that opens into two storefronts.

Diesel and Gas storefronts

  • A split entry page sends each shopper to a Diesel home or a Gas home, each with its own merchandising.
  • Both sides share the header, cart and customer account, so a shopper can cross over at any time.

A vehicle selector on each side

  • The Diesel side has its own year, make and model selector plus a shortcut by engine: Cummins, Powerstroke or Duramax.
  • The Gas side has a separate selector with model years back to 1950.

Built for phones

  • On a phone the split entry stacks into two large choices, and the vehicle selector sits right under the hero.

What SunCoast shoppers see today

A diesel shopper lands on transmissions and converters for diesel trucks with the diesel vehicle selector at the bottom of the hero. A gas shopper gets the same layout with gas vehicles.

Why it works

Splitting the store at the front door means a diesel truck owner never wades through gas parts and the reverse. Each side can lead with the products that matter to its buyers while SunCoast runs a single catalog, a single order flow and a single customer list.
